Microneedling

This is the ideal treatment if you’re suffering from acne scars, large pores, dark spots or patches on your skin (hyperpigmentation), reduced skin elasticity, stretch marks, sun damage, fine lines or wrinkles. Microneedling came be performed on the face and/or various body parts.

The treatment begins with a skin analysis together with your beautician.

Then the skin is thoroughly cleaned and a tonic is applied. The next step is the efficient skin scrubber which removes sebum and impurities of the top layer of the skin. After the face is clean the microneedling procedure will begin. The thin needle will be moved around the face in circular movements until the whole area has been covered. Microneedling is paired with Hyaluronic acid adding moisture deep into the skin while also providing a firming effect.

The purpose of the treatment is to generate new collagen and skin tissue through a thin needle penetrating the skin. The needle penetration cause a ‘micro trauma’ in the skin which activates new collagen production in the course of the next days. The resultant will be even, firmer and toned skin.

Ideal results are achieved after multiple sessions. We recommend treatments with an interval of 4-6 weeks and a series of 3-5 treatments depending on your personalized microneedling plan.

Pre Care

  • Avoid Accutane for the past 6 months.

  • Do not use topical agents that may increase sensitivity of the skin: retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, acids that may be drying or irritating to the skin (such as alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) beta hydroxyl acids (BHA), exfoliating masks, salicylic acids, hydroquinone and benzoyl peroxide acne products) 5-7 days prior.

  • Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen 3 days prior to the treatment. These substances will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation.

  • Avoidance of IPL/Laser procedures, unprotected sun exposure or sunburn for 2 weeks prior.

  • No waxing, depilatory creams or electrolysis to area being treated 5-7 days prior.

  • No shaving the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation. If there is dense hair present in the treatment area, closely shave the area the day before you arrive to your appointment. Moles and warts cannot be treated.
If you are prone to cold sores, take antiviral agent for 2 days prior to and day of treatment.

  • Avoid blood thinning substances (aspirin, fish oil, Omega-3, Vitamin E) for 1 week prior. You may resume the day after the treatment.

  • Microneedling is not suitable for treatment of inflamed acne.

Post Care

  • Immediately after your microneedling procedure your beautician will apply a hyaluronic mask for 5-10 min.

  • Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen for 1 week.

  • Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for 2 weeks.. Always use a full spectrum of sun screen, SPF 30 or above.

  • When exposed to sun, wear a hat and apply sunscreen every 2 hours.

    Day 1 - 3

  • A sunburn-like effect is normal. The skin will feel tight, dry and sensitive to touch. Treat your skin gently by washing with a gentle cleanser, cool water, using hands only and pat dry no earlier than 4 hours after the treatment. Redness or sensitivity might be present. Some small bruising is not uncommon and may last up to 5-7 days and swelling can last 2-4 days depending on how aggressive of a treatment you received.

  • Avoid strenuous exercises that cause sweating and avoid jacuzzi, sauna or steam baths for 24 hours or up to 48 hours if inflammation exists.

  • Sleep on your back with the head of your bed elevated to minimize swelling or pain as needed.

    Day 3 - 5

  • Peeling may start 3-5 days after treatment. You will notice skin dryness and flaking. This is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. Do not pick, scratch or scrub at the treated skin. Allow old skin to flake off naturally and stay moisturized with Hyaluronic serum and moisturize with creams for sensitive skin.

    Day 5 - 7

  • You may restart your regular skin care products once your skin is no longer irritated.

  • Many notice continued skin improvement for months following the last treatment.
